A homeowner in Madison was ready for a change from her plain, builder-grade fireplace mantel. The Scope: What We Did
Our first step was to replace the dated black marble tile with bright, large-format tiles that immediately lightened up the space. Next, we removed the uninspired builder-grade mantel and replaced it with a custom-built solid wood box mantel. We created a custom driftwood stain for the mantel that beautifully complemented the home’s LVT flooring, tying the room together with a seamless look.
The real transformation came with the installation of custom-stained wood slats. We stained the slats to match the new mantel and installed them off-center to enhance the room’s vaulted ceiling, giving the entire area the feel of a modern art installation.
